Thanks for being so charming

“The world is too much with us, getting and spending, we lay waste our time.” Why on earth these words penetrated my mind when I was getting ready to enjoy one of those rare scenes when the sky was absolutely free from smoky clouds. Anyway, let me not waste my time on occasions when our mind would keep jumping from one type of thought to another. Let me not even think of anything else… My lord! The sky, right now, is blue and bright and absolutely calm and the trees are dancing to the tune of the accompanying calm and bright sky… ok, let me enjoy it! Wow!

An evening walk indeed!

A lazy mind may have hundred excuses to make it appear that an evening walk is worthless but an “adamant self” defies the order and pushes you out with a smile. The beginning of my evening walk on that day looked neither clumsy nor dynamic! So, off I went, enjoying the race between the farmers and construction workers. New buildings were coming up but not at the expense of the farmers who were working hard in the field. My only concern was the absence of birds who would fly around making some musical sounds.

Any way, when I found myself alone, I asked the birds, “what happened to those cows and buffalos?” and their reply was “Do you enjoy their rocky sounds and ugly look?”

And the Credit goes to…

The world has undergone a sea-change and the credit goes to the scientists of the past and present. The changes will go on and on but one would hope that these scientists are just like our fellow travelers with some difference in their approach. We have to repeat the fact that while we, the ordinary chaps, enjoy the beauty of the world, the scientists keep on producing new wonders to make the world less troublesome! But some of the so called troubles are really joys that we should not miss!

In view of the above facts, let us worship the changes and let the older things be as fresh as ever so that we will not miss other wonders produced by the sun, moon and the sea and hundreds of birds and their songs… and other beauties of nature including the man-made beauties!

Dancing to the tune of nature

A couple of months ago, it used to be bright and sunny. The sun took its own time to say, “Bye, bye guys,” rather reluctantly, but you had to wait till 9:30pm to see the glorious sunset!
Anyway, slowly but steadily, the weather was neither too hot nor too cold and one was tempted to go for the usual evening walk, enjoying the gentle breeze and affordable sunny days. Occasionally one was tempted to go through the weather forecast to know what’s in store for us on each and every day. Your friends and relatives gave you a hint on what’s in store on a particular day.
What prompted me to write these lines was the unexpected “snow fall”, which I witnessed after a post lunch cat nap. My goodness! We are still in the grip of the “Snow rain” accompanied by massive dry leaves!
Let us hope for the best.

Scandals, please!

As far as agriculture is concerned, bumper crops are few and far between but most of the states in India manage to overcome the shortage by making prompt and smart arrangements with surplus states. Not that they are sympathetic with the middle class people but to make sure that the opposition parties do not make capital out of shortage!
But newspapers and news channels have a wide range of incidents accompanied by photos of presidents or prime ministers or sports persons whom you admire! But what gets top priorities and photos that have something to do with scandals in which some leaders or officials are involved.
Whatever may be the types of such incidents what captures the attention of ordinary people are the scandals!

Rain or shine?

It looked like a 5day match. The team SunnyDay was at its best even as the opposition CloudyDay was making it difficult for the SunnyDay batsmen to pile up a huge total.
The Day 2 was fully dominated by cloudy days with the support of cold winds and occasional drizzles that forced the crowd to go home and the teams to the “Dressing Room!”

Have some patience, man!

After a prolonged, “Hide and Seek”, right from early morning, the Sun seemed to lift the curtain for a while, much to the pleasure of some of us, who have been waiting for a breakthrough. Till then, nothing was visible in certain areas. :Have some patience an”, I said to myself but the long-awaited brightness was just a mirage! And a reminder too! Anyway, haven’t we looked forward to a rainy day during summer?

An Empire indeed!

Though the twelve months or rather, a year commencing from January to December is common to all, we can not ignore the years which are based on certain languages or regions.

Of course, the Jan – Dec period has established itself as an empire and the people all over the world are dependent on it for the purpose of celebrating birthdays or independence days or such important dates. Anyway, the regional years and dates are celebrated in many countries and do serve as a New year’s Day or Birthdays. But what is important is the annual festivals in temples as far as India is concerned.

In several states, most of the people have two birthdays! Those who visit India from other Countries may get some ideas about the importance of regional dates!

The summer is here again!

Ooty it slowly getting back to normal what could be that? Yeah, I got it! Steady flow of cars and buses has become quite normal and a bit vexing! Even as I was wondering whether my calculation was wrong, I saw it! I mean, the Race Course, which till the other day, looked like an abandoned play ground or something. But right now, it has recaptured one of Ooty’s glamours! A few horses were moving here and there and the race course seemed to welcome the tourists and the local addicts with its posh look! And at about 3pm, there was one more show… The heavy rain, which lasted for about half and hour!

Just Now the Lilac is in Bloom

It was a pleasant surprise to me to come across a few lines in a poem which resembled my own words written a few days ago. Of course, the style was not so similar but the ideas did look similar. Quoted below are the first few lines of the poem, “Leisure”

What is this life if, Full of Care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to see, When Woods We Pass
Where Squirrels hide their nuts in grass

Rain or shine, how so ever busy you are, won’t you please set aside an hour or so to watch wonders of nature. Just keep doing it everyday… You will certainly agree with that Poet.
