An evening walk indeed!

A lazy mind may have hundred excuses to make it appear that an evening walk is worthless but an “adamant self” defies the order and pushes you out with a smile. The beginning of my evening walk on that day looked neither clumsy nor dynamic! So, off I went, enjoying the race between the farmers and construction workers. New buildings were coming up but not at the expense of the farmers who were working hard in the field. My only concern was the absence of birds who would fly around making some musical sounds.

Any way, when I found myself alone, I asked the birds, “what happened to those cows and buffalos?” and their reply was “Do you enjoy their rocky sounds and ugly look?”

And the Credit goes to…

The world has undergone a sea-change and the credit goes to the scientists of the past and present. The changes will go on and on but one would hope that these scientists are just like our fellow travelers with some difference in their approach. We have to repeat the fact that while we, the ordinary chaps, enjoy the beauty of the world, the scientists keep on producing new wonders to make the world less troublesome! But some of the so called troubles are really joys that we should not miss!

In view of the above facts, let us worship the changes and let the older things be as fresh as ever so that we will not miss other wonders produced by the sun, moon and the sea and hundreds of birds and their songs… and other beauties of nature including the man-made beauties!

Blue Umbrella

It was blue all over! East or West, north or South; not merely dominating but snatching their share equally and fully! “Yeah, it is for you guys who curse us for being cloudy or sunny to the core. So, enjoy it without cursing us for being what we are or what we are not. You may ignore us but not yours kids! So, wait for their reactions… Here they are. “Daddy, it is a blue tent”. “Mom, here is a huge Umbrella”. “A blue one, so big!” “Uncle, what happened to those white and red colours?”

Anyway, when nature is free from rain or summer showers, the sky is invariably darkish white or playing hide and seek. Right now, it looks like a huge blue umbrella!

When you are lazy!

To be or not to be … That’s the question. Whether it is nobler in the mind to drag on in my own insipid way or to take arms against all lame excuses to drag on and on?

It is still there… the bone-chilling weather and a lazy mind! Anyway, before taking the pen and paper, I went to the kitchen to prepare my favorite coffee and said to myself, “feel the aroma, and sip, sip, sip!” wow!

I picked up the day’s Newspaper and started reading. Thank god! Most of the news items were as dull as ever and I laid the papers down and took out an old magazine… and went through the Joke-Column for a while and stopped writing. If winter comes can summer be far behind!

Beware of super stars!

Politics seems to have become one of the most sought after professions in India, especially at state-level it has undergone a sea change in most states, resulting in the birth of several new parties so as to accommodate new hands crossing over to any party.

Policies of the good old Parties face several problems because the new-born smaller parties are making tall promises to the village people who face so many problems because of natural calamities or some other reasons but they totally believe that smaller parties would solve their problems. People, in general, believe that most of the difficulties faced by them are owing to the failure of bigger parties which are in power.

When a state is getting ready for general election the main parties seek the support of the newly retired super stars of the movies who are ready to start a new party so that they can dream of occupying the “Big chair” if they win!

Let us wait and see!

Quotable quotes

At times, when my mind resists my temptation to write something interesting, I go through those quotable quotes in my Diaries. So, here are a few such items.
(1) “Children behold the chimpanzee
He sits on the ancestral tree
from which we sprang in ages gone.
I am glad we sprang; had we held on
we might, for ought that I can say
Be horrid chimpanzees today”

(2) “God loves an idle rainbow
no less than laboring seas”

(3) “obstinacy is the result of the will forcing into the place of intellect”

Oh, here comes more! :

(4) “Night conceals a world but reveals a universe”

Rain, Shine, Snow, Wind and the Common Man

Nature has to appear in different forms and colors, keeping the people in different parts in good humor or in not-so-happy moods in other parts! The mood of the people in different parts of the world depends on how hot the sun in during summer or how dark and windy the area is during winter cum rainy days. Frankly speaking, worst days are when the wind is in full form in company with mild rains or snows which penetrate your warm cloths on which we have to invest lots of money! Anyway, mid-summer may not be very pleasant but those who are interested in sports, especially cricket, nothing on earth can spoil their mood!
Whether you like it or not, we need all sorts of weather in order to overcome shortage of water or electricity.
Hats off to all kinds of weather!

Progress on all fronts

The present happenings in a country soon becomes the history of that country. In certain countries the recent history may have striking similarities with the past but very often it is just a part and parcel of ‘old habits die hard.’
In many cases, especially in democratic countries, it is invariably on again and off again when it comes to new rules and regulations. As far as India is concerned, several years after independence all developments have something to do with the policies of political parties which have very little to do with the progress of the nation as a whole. What’s funny about the elections in general is that most of the capable leaders are interested only in regional matters and it badly affects the progress of the nation in general thereby making the country lag behind some super power which have inspired youngsters.
Regionalism is OK to some extent but the nation needs progress on all fronts.

Dancing to the tune of nature

A couple of months ago, it used to be bright and sunny. The sun took its own time to say, “Bye, bye guys,” rather reluctantly, but you had to wait till 9:30pm to see the glorious sunset!
Anyway, slowly but steadily, the weather was neither too hot nor too cold and one was tempted to go for the usual evening walk, enjoying the gentle breeze and affordable sunny days. Occasionally one was tempted to go through the weather forecast to know what’s in store for us on each and every day. Your friends and relatives gave you a hint on what’s in store on a particular day.
What prompted me to write these lines was the unexpected “snow fall”, which I witnessed after a post lunch cat nap. My goodness! We are still in the grip of the “Snow rain” accompanied by massive dry leaves!
Let us hope for the best.

Scandals, please!

As far as agriculture is concerned, bumper crops are few and far between but most of the states in India manage to overcome the shortage by making prompt and smart arrangements with surplus states. Not that they are sympathetic with the middle class people but to make sure that the opposition parties do not make capital out of shortage!
But newspapers and news channels have a wide range of incidents accompanied by photos of presidents or prime ministers or sports persons whom you admire! But what gets top priorities and photos that have something to do with scandals in which some leaders or officials are involved.
Whatever may be the types of such incidents what captures the attention of ordinary people are the scandals!
